Formally a bank and home to Lloyds Bank, 22a Great Hampton Street is a Victorian complex with an abundance of character. In this incredible building we are creating office space – home to our Head Office along with others, a Café and a live music venue and bar in the former bank Vault.

The Bank

Situated at the heart of Great Hampton Street, the Grade 2 listed building and former Bank dates back to circa 1880. A striking heritage building with eclectic design combining Gothic with Renaissance and Dutch gable motifs. The tall corner oriel surmounted by octagonal cupola with scrolled consoles along with the dutch gables, ogee capped finial and banking hall windows are particularly eye catching.

A truly iconic Grade II listed Building. The refurbishment of this grade II-listed building is a great way for to showcase our development approach whilst reflecting their values we are committed to. We will reuse and respect the buildings heritage with intervention of a new contemporary identity  with traditional details.

Cordia Blackswan’s Flagship Property Development

The site is steeped in history and the buildings date back to the early 19th Century.

Number 1 Great Hampton Street was the former site of The Gothic Inn, from where the project gets its namesake. Originally a popular public house in its heyday, The Gothic Inn served the hard workers of the local factories in Birmingham since 1870, before closing its doors for the last time in the early 2000s.

Construction is now underway, and the first phase of this property development is expected to complete in early 2022.

Former Birmingham warehouse site reimagined for living, working and leisure.

Modern living amongst rich industrial heritage in an iconic location.

Previously occupied by a tyre manufacturer, this prime 4-acre site adjacent to the Jewellery Quarter’s train station and tram stop, represents a major £100m BTR mixed-use development.

Hockley Mills is set to house 395 new BTR Birmingham apartments, as well as 28,000 sq.ft of commercial space for leisure and offices across four acres and eight buildings. The site was designed with the local heritage and architecture of the surrounding area in mind.

Cordia Blackswan handled the Hockley Mills site from its inception, and successfully guided the property development project through the planning and funding process. After securing a £100m investment from L&G the site was handed over in early 2021.

Sympathetic restoration of grade II* listed jewellery factory in the Jewellery Quarter.

Following a complex £28 million regeneration, Gilders Yard will offer 157 new Birmingham homes for rent, together with 10,000 sq.ft of commercial space.

Gilders Yard comprises the grade II* listed former Ashford & Sons jewellery factory, plus a further three distinct blocks, each with their own innovative and contextual architectural style. It’s centre piece is a brand-new terracotta façade, bringing a traditional skill back to the city after an absence of 100 years. 

Cordia Blackswan took this property development project from site acquisition through planning and to external completion, whilst securing forward funding from Grainger.
